Pregnancy and Marshmallow Goo

I am 31 weeks into this pregnancy... already... wow.  I feel so totally unprepared for the sleepless nights that I know are coming soon.  I'm also feeling a bit anxious about labor.  It went so quickly with Joshua.  If it goes much quicker this time, the baby will be born somewhere between our house and the hospital!

Anyway, baby is measuring perfectly and everything looks great.  Heart beat tends to be in the mid to upper 140's (which makes me think boy) but has at times been up in upper 150's and low 160's (which would make me think girl).  So when people ask what I think this baby is, I'm totally not lying when I say that I have no clue.  I go back and forth, depending on the day, so I really have no motherly insight or feeling either way.  Every once in a while I find myself wishing we'd found out baby's gender at the ultrasound, but most of the time I'm enjoying the surprise element.  It's kinda fun, and I'm not near as frustrated as I thought I would be not knowing.

I went out to run errands and get some more things for Brielle's cake last night.  I had started making marshmallows (to attempt to cut them into a handle and spout for her teapot cake) and realized I only had half of the corn syrup I needed.  I told Brielle I needed to go get some corn syrup, and she stared at me open mouthed and said "But MOM!  We don't EAT corn syrup!"  lol.  Guess I've mentioned that a few times to her when telling her why we weren't buying a certain food item.  :)  I've seen some recipes without corn syrup, but I didn't want to make a batch and have it flop, and I'd made this recipe before so I knew how it would (well, should) turn out.  I ended up having five stops to make (Matthew kept the kids at home) but it turned into six because I forgot... you guessed it... the corn syrup.  So I had to backtrack a few blocks and head back into Albertsons for that one darn ingredient.  I got home and made fluffy pink marshmallows.

Today I get to figure out how exactly I plan to cut them to be what I need.  :)  With that, I'm off to continue picking up and working on birthday stuff at the same time.
