Ok, so maybe our day wasn't quite packed with fun... but it was okay. :) Matthew and Brielle made a quick trip to Walmart at 8am to return some rings for a scope he'd gotten for a new shotgun. The ones he'd gotten were too big, and obviously you need the scope rings to hold the scope on TIGHT to the barrel. Brielle saw him getting ready and instantly started asking if she could go too... big surprise. Matthew, being the wonderful daddy that he is, waited patiently for her to get ready quick and didn't even bat an eye at the 'colorful' outfit she put together for herself. I love that man. He made it back in just under an hour, and thankfully the new rings fit! (Even if it was just barely!)
While they were gone, Joshua and I mixed up some granola and got that into the oven. We also managed to get some laundry started, and I mopped the kitchen while he ate breakfast. Brielle bugged me continuously until the granola finally came out of the oven and she could sneak a few bites. We did some general pick-up before Bible study and then had a good time of fellowship with a smaller than usual group. The kids had fun playing with their friends and making a big mess in their bedroom... which was all cleaned up before study was over! YES!!
I wasn't feeling very hungry (maybe because of the pressure-filled contractions I was having at the moment) so I just threw together some scrambled eggs, toast, and apples with homemade caramel apple dip for dinner. Then Matthew graciously allowed me to skip away to the office to work on Joshua's scrapbook. I did a scrapbook for Brielle's first year, and it's been my goal to do one for the first year of every child. Well, let's just say I'm a bit behind... Joshua just turned 18 months and I'm in the middle of his 4th month in the scrapbook. Plus I have a baby coming in less than two months. Yeah, I'm feeling the pressure. However, I finished Brielle's scrapbook about 2 weeks before Joshua was born... so I know it's possible.
So anyway, I was going through pictures and thought it would be fun to see where Matthew and I have been at this time of year for the past 5 years... a little trip down memory lane... and a shock at how quickly things have changed!

All snug in our little apartment in newlywed bliss.
The snowdrift we managed to get stuck in while out on a 'drive' in North Dakota... on a farm road in the middle of a corn field... we had no idea where we were so it took the tow trucks HOURS to find us. Then the tow truck got stuck and they had to call another one. We were stuck for about 8 hours!

And that brings us up to date. I actually don't have a current family photo (shame on me!) so I will need to get one soon... though I know for sure we'll be getting some when baby comes. I love pictures. I remember so much more when I can see photographs. They help my mind remember little details, and what was happening when each picture was taken.
