Short Update

Just a quick check-in.  I've got a cake in the oven and kids at the table licking beaters... so this will need to be quick.  :)  I *had* both halves of Brielle's cake made, but the second one decided to fall apart when I took it out of the pan.  Ugh.  Thankfully I had extra butter out at room temp so I quickly mixed up a third cake and popped that into the oven.  I can now officially say I have this cake recipe memorized... and it's a GOOD one!  Took me several tries to find a white cake from scratch that I liked, and this is my definite go-to recipe for white cake.  Plus, it only takes 6 ingredients!  How awesome is that?!  Anyway, this cake better hold it together or I might lose it!  I'm still not 100% sure how exactly I'm going to decorate it, so I'll probably just end up winging it and hopefully it turns out.  If it doesn't, I have a huge box of salad in the fridge... I'm sure the kids would love that just as much, right?!  haha... yeah.

While the cakes were baking, I managed to finish Brielle's birthday banner.  She is super excited to see it on the wall, and I'm thinking it's going to get hung very soon because it's just an accident waiting to happen sitting on the dining room table...

I feel totally chaotic and spacey this week... if this birthday party turns out well at all it will be a total surprise.  I'm sure there are about a million things I'm forgetting.  Oh well.  

I did find out today that my Matthew has a three day weekend this weekend!  I didn't know about it until this afternoon, so that was an unexpected surprise.  Not sure what we'll do but we'll have to think of something.  Well I'd better get going... Brielle and Joshua are back in the bedroom having a wedding, and Brielle just announced that she is 'having a pregnancy.'  ...aaaand she just came out with a baby... that was quick!
